This production cel features Snoopy in full attorney attire - complete with sunglasses, yellow bow tie, and briefcase - standing beside Lucy's famous psychiatric booth, which has been hilariously converted into a courthouse. The sign reads "COURT OF LAW / LEGAL AID 7¢" at the top and "THE DOCTOR IS IN" at the bottom, perfectly capturing the wit and charm of Charles M. Schulz's beloved Peanuts gang. Original Sticker from Peanuts Film Gallery (seal visible in lower left corner). Hand-inked and hand-painted production cel on acetate.
Created at Bill Melendez Studios, 1974. This is actual animation artwork photographed and used in the broadcast special. Full size of frame: Approximately 19"x16". Visible area: Approximately 12"x10". Schulz allowed to bring his Peanuts characters to television. These hand-painted cels represent actual frames of animation from the golden age of television animation, before digital techniques replaced traditional cel animation. "It's a Mystery, Charlie Brown" was one of two Peanuts specials that aired in 1974, showcasing Snoopy's detective skills and the gang's problem-solving abilities in classic Schulz style. Recently professionally reframed and in nice condition for being 50 years old. The cel itself shows excellent color saturation and minimal wear. The top portion of the image has some uneven paper edges that become more or less apparent depending on viewing angle and lighting (please see final photos for examples of how this appears from different perspectives).
Overall displays beautifully and the actual animation artwork is in excellent vintage condition. Professionally matted and framed behind glass for museum-quality presentation and protection. Ready to hang and enjoy as a stunning piece of animation history and nostalgic art.
